OmeTV Privacy Policy
Effective date: 29 October 2026.
This policy explains what data the OmeTV video chat at beerw.ru collects, why, how long it is kept and who it is shared with. It is written to match what the service actually does. If you have a question, write to support@beerw.ru.
1. Who operates the service
The video chat at beerw.ru is operated under the OmeTV brand ("OmeTV", "we", "us"). We decide how your data is used and are responsible for it. You can contact us at support@beerw.ru.
2. Data we collect and why
Sign-in with Google, Yandex or Facebook
When you sign in, the provider tells us your account id with that provider, your display name, your profile picture address (a link to the picture on the provider's servers) and your email address if the provider shares it (Google only when the address is verified). With Yandex ID these are your Yandex account id, the default email address of your Yandex account, your display name (or your name, if no display name is set) and your Yandex portrait. We ask only for basic profile and email access. We store these details with your account and refresh them each time you sign in, so we know it is you and can link your sign-ins together. We do not receive or keep your password, and we do not store the provider's access tokens.
Sign-in with VK is no longer offered. If you signed in with VK earlier, we keep the same details from VK (account id, display name, picture link and email address) with your account until you ask us to delete them.
Guest access
Where guest access is enabled, you can use the chat without signing in. We then create a random guest identifier. For a guest we store the same technical and moderation data as for any user (see below) and, for 7 days, a record of the guest creation (IP address or network, country and site) so we can limit how many guest accounts one address creates.
Identity cookie
Every visitor who opens the chat, guest or signed in, gets a random identity token in a cookie. On our servers we keep only a one-way hash of it. It recognises your browser when you come back.
Technical data
- IP address: used to connect you, to work out your country, to apply rate limits and to enforce bans. We store your latest IP address and the addresses you have connected from.
- Country: worked out from your IP address with an offline copy of the DB-IP country database on our own servers. No address is sent to anyone for this. Your country is shown to the people you are matched with.
- Device identifier: the site stores a random device id and a short hash of your browser's characteristics (for example browser version, screen size, language, time zone and graphics rendering) in a cookie and in local storage. We store them with your connections to recognise devices used to get around bans and to detect abuse.
- Browser and connection records: for each connection we record when it started and ended, your IP address, country, browser user agent, the site address you used, your device id and how you signed in. Moderators see this as your login history.
- Activity records: who you were matched with and when, the gender you selected, and counts such as how many chats you started. Rooms you create or join are recorded too.
Video and audio
Your camera and microphone go directly from your device to your partner's device (peer to peer, using WebRTC). When a direct connection is not possible, the encrypted stream is relayed through our own TURN server. We do not record video or audio. As with any peer-to-peer call, your device and your partner's device exchange network addresses to connect.
Preview frame
When you press Start or Next, your device takes one very small still frame from your camera (about 48 pixels wide). It is sent to your next partner, who sees it heavily blurred until your video starts. It is held in our servers' memory only for your current session and is not saved.
Camera frames for moderation
To keep the chat safe, single still frames (a low-resolution JPEG, at most 480 pixels wide) are taken from the camera in these cases:
- When someone reports a partner: the frame the reporter sees, a frame from the reported person's camera and a frame from the reporter's own camera. They are stored with the report.
- When moderators look at live sessions: a current frame of your camera. It is kept in memory only, replaced by the next one and dropped when you disconnect.
- When a moderator bans someone: a frame is stored with the ban as evidence. The banned person sees it on the ban screen.
- When automatic moderation is enabled: frames are checked by an AI image classifier that runs on our own servers, without access to the internet, and looks for nudity, violence, gore and extremist symbols. Frames it does not flag are discarded immediately. Flagged frames are stored for a moderator to review and may lead to an automatic ban.
Moderators can also watch a live session in real time to check a report or a suspected violation. This view is not recorded, but a moderator may save a still frame from it as ban evidence. Moderators may use AI-assisted tools to review the moderation data described in this policy.
Reports and bans
A report contains the reason, the time, the session, both participants' ids and countries, the reported person's IP address (in group calls, every participant's) and the photos described above. A ban contains the account, IP address or address range it applies to, the reason, its duration, who issued it and the ban photo.
Chat messages
Text messages are relayed through our server to your partner and are not stored. If your partner turns on translation, the messages you send are translated for them by a translation service (LibreTranslate) that runs on our own servers without access to the internet. Recent translations are cached briefly in memory and are not written to disk.
Face check
When you press Start or Next, your device checks on the device itself whether a face is visible in your camera. No image is sent for this: only a yes or no result reaches our server. If no face is seen twice in a row, you are matched mainly with other users whose face was not seen, and your account is marked for moderators, until a face is seen again.
Cookies and storage on your device
- Identity cookies (ometv_anon, ometv_auth, ometv_id): the random identity token described above, for up to one year.
- Sign-in cookies: a short-lived cookie that protects the sign-in flow (10 minutes) and hints that you are signed in or a guest (ometv_signed_in, ometv_guest).
- Device cookies (ometv_fp, ometv_fph): the device identifier described above, for up to two years.
- Local storage: your preferences, such as language, selected country, gender, translation, chosen camera and microphone, the site's design for this address, and whether you logged out of guest access.
- Service worker: if you install the site as an app, it keeps copies of the site's pages and files on your device so they load faster and work offline. It never stores calls, chat messages or account data.
- We do not use advertising or analytics cookies, and we do not load third-party trackers.
3. Why we use your data
- To provide the service: sign-in, matching you with partners, connecting calls, chat and translation, rooms and your preferences. This is necessary to provide the service you asked for.
- Safety and moderation: enforcing the rules, handling reports, reviewing frames, banning people who break the rules and keeping evidence of bans. This is our legitimate interest in keeping the chat safe for everyone, and in some cases a legal obligation.
- Abuse prevention: rate limits, automatic and manual blocking of IP addresses and networks, and recognising devices used to get around bans. This is our legitimate interest.
- Security: protecting accounts, the sign-in flow and our systems.
We do not use your data for advertising, we do not build marketing profiles and we do not sell it.
4. How long we keep data
- Video, audio and chat messages: not stored.
- Preview frames and live moderation frames: kept in memory only, for the current session.
- Login history and match history: the latest 50 entries per user; older entries are deleted automatically.
- Report photos: deleted automatically once the report is no longer among the most recent reports (by default the latest 2,000).
- AI-flagged frames: kept for moderator review; reviewed or dismissed cases are deleted automatically after 90 days, and the total number kept is limited.
- Abuse-prevention records: the abuse log for 14 days, and per-address records for 90 days after the last violation (longer while a block is active).
- Guest creation records: 7 days.
- Records of guests with no reports, bans or sign-in linked may be deleted automatically when storage limits are reached.
- Your account (sign-in details, display name, picture link and email) and your IP and device records: kept while your account exists.
- Reports, bans, ban photos and moderator action logs: kept as long as needed for safety, to enforce bans and to handle disputes. There is no fixed automatic deletion.
You can ask us to delete your data at any time: see How to delete your data.
5. Who we share data with
- Your chat partners see your video, audio, messages, your country and the blurred preview frame.
- Our hosting provider stores and processes data on our behalf, on servers we control. The TURN relay, the AI image classifier and the translation service run on those servers too.
- Google, Yandex and Facebook are involved only when you choose to sign in with them. Your profile picture is loaded from the provider's servers.
- Law enforcement and authorities: when we are legally required to, or when it is necessary to protect someone from serious harm.
We do not sell or rent your data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict its use, and to receive a copy. To use these rights, write to support@beerw.ru from the email address of your sign-in account, or include details that let us find your records (for example your sign-in provider and display name). We will respond within the time required by applicable law. To delete your account, follow the steps in How to delete your data.
You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
7. How to delete your data
You can ask us to delete your OmeTV account and the data linked to it at any time, including data from signing in with Google, Yandex or Facebook (or VK, if you signed in with it before):
- Step 1. Write an email to support@beerw.ru with the subject "Delete my data".
- Step 2. Send it from the email address of the Google, Yandex, Facebook or VK account you sign in with. If that account has no email address, or you cannot use it, tell us which provider you sign in with and your display name, so we can find your account.
- Step 3. We may ask you to confirm the request from that account before we delete anything, so nobody else can delete your data.
- Step 4. We delete your data within 30 days and reply to confirm when it is done.
What we delete: your account and sign-in details (provider account id, email address, display name and picture link), your user record, the IP address and device records linked to it, your login and match history, your preferences and the tags on your account.
What we may keep: as explained in How long we keep data, reports, bans, ban photos and moderator action logs can be kept as long as needed to enforce a ban, protect other users or meet a legal obligation. If you are banned, the ban stays in force after the deletion. Video, audio and chat messages are never stored, so there is nothing to delete.
On your device: log out, then clear this site's cookies and storage in your browser settings (and uninstall the app if you installed it). This removes the identity and device cookies and your preferences. As a guest you can also just do this: guest records with no reports or bans are removed automatically over time.
To remove OmeTV's access to your Google, Yandex, Facebook or VK account, you can also revoke it in that provider's account settings. This stops future sign-ins but does not delete the data we already hold, so send us the request above as well.
8. Age
OmeTV is for adults only. You must be at least 18 years old to use it. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor is using the service, report them in the chat or write to support@beerw.ru.
9. Security
The site is served over HTTPS, calls are encrypted in transit by WebRTC, identity tokens are stored only as hashes, access to moderation data is limited to moderators, and moderator actions are logged. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the service changes. The effective date at the top shows the current version. If a change is significant, we will make it visible on the site. Using the service after a change means you accept the updated policy.
